Robert J. Pendergast founded Access Risk Services in January 2001. He served as Managing Principal, President until his death in January 2011. Mr. Pendergast; recognized as a leader in the Insurance Industry, had over 30 years experience providing risk management services for large and complex risk management clients.

Mr. Pendergast was well known for managing the risk management, insurance and risk service needs of global Real Estate, Hospitality, Retail and Gaming companies. In addition, his well established global relationships served a broad group of industries including, Construction, M&A and Private Equity clients.

In building long lasting relationships with the industry's leading providers of risk services, Mr. Pendergast had established himself as a distinguished and experienced leader in the global risk services and insurance industry.

Mr. Pendergast, a graduate of Clemson University, began his career in the insurance industry as a Property Loss Control Expert and Fire Protection Engineer, and was an industry leader and writer on topics including risk analysis, risk financing, complex account risk service design and risk management strategies. Prior to founding Access Risk Services in January 2001, he held senior management positions with two of the three largest insurance brokers with direct responsibility and leadership of Business Development, Acquisitions, Global Operations, Property and Casualty service departments.
